What they did
1) Use new Outlook for Windows, Outlook on the web, or the Microsoft 365 Calendar in Teams with the automatic Copilot rescheduling option available. On your primary calendar, create or open a personal appointment or a meeting with one other person. 2) Enable If conflicts arise, let Copilot reschedule this event. Select the alternative days and hours that are acceptable, then save the event. 3) If you later accept, schedule, or move another event into that time, Copilot can look for a nearby free slot within your allowed window. The conflicting event must count as Busy or Out of office; a Tentative conflict does not trigger the move. 4) Check Outlook's notifications pane for a successful move, an inability to find a slot, or a notice that the event is no longer eligible. Review the new calendar time and adjust it yourself if needed.
Worth knowing
Secondary or shared calendars, meetings with more than one attendee, and events over five hours are ineligible. Turning the option on does not by itself trigger a move; Microsoft describes it as responding to later conflicts.
