What they did
1) Install Yomio and have a grocery or mixed household-shopping receipt available, either on paper or electronically. 2) Photograph the receipt or upload the receipt file. Let the receipt reader extract the individual purchases and categorize the items. 3) Review the recorded items against the original, especially when one receipt contains food, cleaning products and office supplies. 4) Use the searchable purchase history to find particular purchases, then inspect the spending visualizations to see which item categories account for your spending. Manual expense entry is also available when you do not have a receipt.
Worth knowing
In the launch discussion, the maker confirmed item-level categories and currency recognition, but said conversion into one base currency was still being developed. Voice entry was not offered in that version.
