What they did
1) Open https://maybesomeone-arc18.github.io/receipts-to-csv/ in a desktop browser. Prepare JPG, PNG or WebP receipts and allow the initial model/runtime download, roughly 60 MB. No account or API key is required. 2) Select a few pictures. The page runs PP-OCRv5 locally and extracts vendor, date, total and tax. 3) Compare the fields with the pictures, paying attention to every highlighted uncertainty. Correct the readings and mark the receipts as checked using the confirmation control. 4) Download the CSV and open it in your spreadsheet application. Keep the receipt pictures available when reviewing the exported amounts.
How it went
In the maker's held-out evaluation, totals were correct on 35 of 48 scored receipts; all 13 incorrect totals were flagged.
Worth knowing
Currency is not extracted. Tax, vendor and date readings were weak; the maker says the prototype is not for accounting and did not test phones.
