What they did

1) Open Claude Code in the screenshot directory. Remove sensitive material from scope and create FILE_CLEANUP_REFERENCE.md with project descriptions, target categories, and example images for visual identification. 2) Enter /plan, ask Claude to read the reference, and agree on destination folders, including To Review. 3) Process images in batches of six to eight. Review Claude's descriptions before it renames and moves the corresponding originals. 4) If large images prevent batch processing, create a temp_resized folder and generate viewing copies with sips --resampleHeightWidthMax 1500 original.png --out temp_resized/original.png. Preserve matching filenames. Classify the previews, move the originals, and remove previews only after confirming those moves. 5) Inspect To Review yourself before deleting suspected blanks or duplicates. Finish by checking the categorized folders and removing any temporary move permission.

How it went

The author reports organizing roughly 1,400 screenshots. Manual deletion review caught a property-tax receipt among supposed junk.

Worth knowing

The multi-image size failure described here occurred in December 2025; it is historical evidence, not a current universal model limit.
