What they did
1) Install Claude Code and create business/invoices.md with invoice ID, client, amount, currency, issue date, due date, status and last_reminder. 2) Create .claude/skills/invoice-chase/SKILL.md with name and description frontmatter. Instruct it to run date +%F, calculate days overdue, include payment details and keep drafts under 90 words. Define stages: -3 to 0 days, friendly heads-up; 1–7, payment-date question; 8–21, firm reminder and accounts contact; 22–45, final notice with applicable pause or fee date; beyond 45, stop drafting and list options. Require drafts in clients/<client>/drafts/, a last_reminder update and no sending. 3) Run claude in that folder and ask who owes money, then request drafts for overdue invoices. 4) Inspect each saved draft and its invoice details before sending it yourself.
Worth knowing
The source provides a reusable tutorial, not evidence that clients paid after receiving these reminders.
