What they did
1) Use Claude Code with Chrome access through claude --chrome and access to your grocery and takeaway accounts. Export recent orders into local files; the author used her last 30 Instacart and DoorDash orders. 2) Sort the purchases by whose food they were and which items represented dinners you actually want, rather than emergency takeaway. 3) Extract a small set of reusable dinner patterns. Save those patterns in one file and exclusions in another; the source used five patterns emphasizing shelf-stable proteins and precut ingredients. 4) Create a Claude Code skill that reads both files, asks how many dinners you want this week and what currently sounds unappealing, then produces the shopping list. 5) Optionally give it a pantry screenshot to identify missing ingredients, and paste the finished list into Instacart.
How it went
The author reports getting five usable dinner patterns and a reusable list-making skill.
