What they did
1) Have a freee account, Node.js with npx, a Claude MCP client, and your own freee client credentials. Configure a server named freee with command `npx`, args `["@him0/freee-mcp"]`, and environment fields `FREEE_CLIENT_ID` and `FREEE_CLIENT_SECRET`. Complete the browser OAuth consent. 2) Give Claude the purchase date, vendor, amount, and purpose; the author's example was a JPY 3,200 Amazon stationery purchase on December 15. Ask it to record that purchase in freee. 3) Review the expense account and tax code selected for the entry, then reconcile the posted bookkeeping before continuing. 4) For batches, instruct Claude to write one transaction at a time and wait one second between writes; review failures rather than assuming every row was recorded.
How it went
The author reported ten correctly categorized individual purchases and a 32-transaction batch taking about three minutes.
Worth knowing
Receipt uploads failed through the tested connector and required a separate REST upload script.
