Ask questions over your own notes and export a useful answer

At a glance

Gemini Notebook treats selected notes as cited sources and can export a saved response to Google Docs. This workflow is listed under Personal Notes, Study, Document Workflows.

What they did

1) Open a notebook in Gemini Notebook on the web while signed in. Have the personal notes you want to work with ready to paste. 2) In Sources, choose Create note and write or paste the material. Repeat for separate notes; they appear alongside uploaded sources. 3) Check the notes you want included and uncheck unrelated sources. Ask a question in Chat about the selected material, then inspect the citation chips linking the response back to passages in your notes. 4) Save a useful response with Save to note. Hover over that note in Sources, open More and choose Export to Docs. The exported answer opens as a new Google document for further work.

Worth knowing

Edits to the exported document do not synchronize back, and notebook sharing permissions do not transfer. Mobile can view and select notes for questions but does not currently support note editing.
