What they did
1) Start with access to Claude Web, Claude Code, Claude Design, Git, and an AWS account. Describe the family trip costs and planning features to prototype as an artifact. 2) When the artifact becomes unwieldy, bring it into Claude Code and request separate React files, a Git repository, and documentation. 3) Inspect the cost calculations and correct defects, including inflation making prices fall. 4) Attach the repository to Claude Design, request alternative visual themes, choose one, and bring it back to Claude Code. 5) Have Claude prepare Terraform for S3 and CloudFront hosting; review the infrastructure choices. 6) Fix mobile rendering and other defects, deploy, and keep the repository alongside the working planner.
How it went
The author published a mobile-friendly planner and a public repository. One intensive design session consumed her available usage budget within an hour.
Worth knowing
The trip prices are predictions, and the author does not guarantee their accuracy.
