What they did
1) Put a computer with Claude Code and an Android TV on the same Wi-Fi. On the TV, open Settings → Device Preferences → About, press Build seven times, and enable USB debugging in Developer options. 2) Open Claude Code in an empty folder and provide the TV model. Request ADB discovery, an app/settings backup, and a restore script before changes; accept the debugging authorization on the TV. 3) Specify which functions to keep. Have Claude disable unwanted packages, build or adapt the cleanyourtv launcher, install it, and check changes with TV screenshots. Configure your app row and optional photos or prayer settings. 4) Verify the home screen and retained functions, then switch USB debugging off.
How it went
The author disabled 33 apps reversibly and reported free memory rising from 550 to 850 MB.
Worth knowing
The author builds from his own fork, reviews upstream changes, and keeps the restore path; system apps are disabled rather than removed.
