What they did

1) Install Google Photos on Android and make sure the trip pictures are in your backed-up library. In Photos settings, open Preferences, then Gemini features in Photos, and enable Ask Photos if it is available for your account. Complete the requested face-group confirmation during onboarding. 2) Open the Ask tab and describe what you want to recover, including the trip location and the kind of memory, such as food you ate there. Submit the question. 3) Inspect the returned pictures and descriptive summary. Ask a follow-up question or add a clarification in the same conversation to narrow the results. 4) Open the matching pictures to check the result against the actual images. Toggle between Ask and classic search if you want to compare the two result views; use More, then Redo if the same question needs fresh results.

Worth knowing

Ask Photos is experimental and availability varies by account and region. Unsaved shared content is searchable only in classic search.
