What they did
1) Connect Gmail and Google Calendar in Claude's connection settings. This workflow needs email-reading access plus tools permitted to create drafts and events on your family calendar. Collect the school domains, PTA addresses, and class-parent senders. 2) Ask Claude to search those senders over the past seven days and read complete threads. Request reply drafts, calendar updates, and a summary grouped by school. Require questions for ambiguous details and leave replies unsent. 3) Specify calendar rules: pickup events get departure and return blocks 30 minutes either side; due-date reminders become all-day entries. Deduplicate repeated notices and flag expired deadlines instead of scheduling them. 4) Answer clarification questions, inspect Gmail drafts and the actual family calendar, and correct errors in chat. Once the output is satisfactory, ask Claude to save the instructions as the reusable school-emails skill.
Worth knowing
