What they did
1) Obtain census images for one place across two years and prepare Gemini, Claude and a destination such as WeAre.xyz. 2) Use Gemini to design a property article structure and CSV columns for address, schedule, names, occupation, birthplace and trade. 3) Upload census pages to Claude and request transcription with unknown markers for uncertain words; confirm each page. 4) Ask Claude for house-by-house comparisons across years. Return the findings to Gemini for themes, then ask Claude to locate supporting individuals and check discrepancies. 5) Export the reviewed CSV, save it to Google Drive and map property stories on WeAre.xyz; check narrative details against the records.
How it went
The study covered more than 400 named people across 63 properties. The author reports finding persistent trades despite substantial resident turnover.
Worth knowing
The author found image processing lengthy and encountered a daily limit after two batches of roughly ten records.
