What they did

1) In Gmail, filter school senders into a Newsletter label and create a Processed label. Connect Gmail through Claude Settings > Connectors. 2) Install and sign into Claude in Chrome for linked newsletters; add their host under Additional Allowed Domains when needed. Open Cowork on the desktop. 3) Tell it to read Newsletter messages without Processed, including external newsletter pages. Provide each child's school, grade and activities, using initials if preferred. Exclude irrelevant notices, deduplicate district events and place school closures first. 4) Generate sample digests and revise the instructions until they include the needed information. Have it label completed messages Processed. 5) Ask Cowork to schedule the workflow weekly; the author uses Sunday at 6 a.m. With native Gmail, retrieve the digest from Drafts and send it yourself.

Worth knowing

Processed labels prevent missed runs from losing older mail. The native connector described here creates drafts; the author uses Zapier MCP for sending.
