What they did
1) Gather a small batch of recipe cards and a phone with access to Recipes We Share. Photograph each complete card in readable light, including its reverse side and handwritten amendments; avoid filters that erase faded marks. 2) Upload the photographs and let the app extract ingredients, method, timing and yield. Compare those fields with the original and edit transcription errors. 3) Attach the original image and reverse-side notes to the same recipe record. Add missing practical details, such as the pan size or actual baking time, by asking the relative who knows them. 4) Save with a recognizable recipe title and a family collection or tag. Finish each batch by checking that another family member can find the recipe and cook from the clean version, with unclear details flagged for follow-up.
Worth knowing
The guide recommends preserving both the source image and the edited recipe; keeping them in separate places makes later verification harder.
