What they did
1) For a local installation, have Python 3.10+, Node 18+, and a Gemini API key with access to the configured Gemma model. Clone https://github.com/Srijita33/resumepilot, copy .env.example to backend/.env, and set GEMINI_API_KEY. 2) In backend, create and activate a Python virtual environment, run pip install -r requirements.txt, then uvicorn main:app --reload --port 8000. In another terminal, run npm install and npm run dev from frontend; open http://localhost:5173. 3) Upload a text-readable resume PDF and paste the target job description, or begin with Load sample data. Click Analyze Resume. 4) Review compatibility sections, matched and missing keywords, and the explanation for each recommendation. Resolve suggestions marked Verify before adding against your actual experience. 5) Click Generate Tailored Resume, review the rewritten facts, and download TXT or use Print/Save as PDF.
How it went
The submission demonstrates the upload-to-analysis flow and shows compatibility, keyword, and recommendation screens.
Worth knowing
Resume text goes to the hosted Gemini API. Compatibility is an unvalidated AI estimate, not an official ATS score.
