What they did
1) Prepare importable ePub files for the books you want included and create a dedicated NotebookLM notebook for the series. Add each book as a separate source; leave later volumes out when avoiding spoilers. 2) Keep the notebook open beside your e-reader. Ask about a character's previous interaction, location, relationships, or a fictional rule that is confusing you, specifying a chapter boundary when needed. 3) Open the cited passages to reconnect the answer to the text. For alliances, generate a Studio mind map, select an interesting branch, and ask for supporting evidence. 4) Before beginning the next volume, generate an Audio Overview of the completed book to refresh the plot, then return to reading.
How it went
The author reported easier character tracking and faster progress through sections that had previously stalled his reading.
Worth knowing
The source describes chapter limits as prompts; uploading an unread volume still exposes its contents to the notebook.
