What they did
1) Open ChatGPT and describe the subjects you want to write about, such as parenting, marketing, or storytelling. Ask it to help clarify your voice through an interview and to ask setup questions before moving to content production. 2) Return for a Sunday session. Answer by voice note about your interests, current questions, projects you enjoyed, observations, and difficulties. Let the assistant ask follow-up questions instead of treating the first response as a finished essay. 3) Give feedback as you refine the interview. Read its reflections and proposed content ideas, retain the stories or perspective that feel accurate, and use those as material for your own writing.
How it went
After two months, the author valued recognizing her investigative style more than the generated deliverables, most of which she did not use.
Worth knowing
She describes the assistant as a potentially flattering mirror, rather than an objective assessment of her identity.
