What they did
1) Obtain the relevant official IRCC application, document checklist, and instruction guide. The author's references were CIT 0001, CIT 0014, and the CIT 0001 guide. 2) Create a ChatGPT Project named Canadian Citizenship and add these files through Sources. 3) In Project settings, instruct the assistant to prioritize those documents, identify the relevant section, separate requirements from suggestions, flag matters needing current verification, and avoid assuming missing facts. 4) Start a project chat asking which supporting documents are needed. Add existing family records and tree information, then ask what is present, missing, or inconsistent, including alternatives to an unavailable historical birth record. 5) Verify answers against current IRCC material and original records, then return to the same project as documents arrive to choose the next research task.
How it went
The author used this process to organize evidence for a six-generation family line.
Worth knowing
