What they did

1) Install Descript, sign in, and have your audio or video recording ready. From Drive View, choose + New to create the appropriate project. 2) Drop the recording into the Script editor to generate a transcript synchronized with the media. If it is already in the Media library, open its three-dot menu and choose Transcribe file. 3) Open the Action bar and choose Remove filler words. Preview the detected passages instead of accepting every cut. 4) Use Delete to remove a selected filler from both text and audio, or Ignore to remove the audio while retaining a struck-through record in the script. 5) Play back the joins and restore any necessary words. Open Publish, select the Export tab and save the finished audio or video file to your computer.

Worth knowing

Remove from transcript changes only the script and leaves the spoken filler in the audio. The guide distinguishes it from Delete and Ignore.
