What they did
1) Prepare n8n, Gemini API access, Drive and Sheets OAuth credentials, and Drive inbox and processed folders. Create a sheet with headers first_name, last_name, job_title, company_name, website, phone, email, address, linkedin, twitter, instagram and facebook. 2) Set a daily midnight trigger to search the inbox folder. Loop over files individually, download each image and send it to Gemini for JSON extraction using those field names; absent fields should be empty strings. 3) Parse the JSON, remove Markdown wrappers if present and map its fields to a Sheets Append Row operation. Move the processed image into the archive folder, then continue the loop. 4) Configure folder and spreadsheet IDs, add card photos and run the workflow. Review the appended rows against the images and correct extraction errors.
How it went
The author reports processing 30 cards in 4 minutes 22 seconds; two required minor formatting corrections.
Worth knowing
Moving completed images out of the inbox prevents the next scheduled run from processing those files again.
