One week with Claude Code: nixpkgs PRs, blog features, and an Emacs package
At a glance
Julio Merino spent a week with Claude Code Pro packaging for nixpkgs, shipping EndTRACKER features, demoting a 'six-month' work idea to a ~200-line script, and vibe-coding ticket.el. This workflow is listed under coding-agents, claude-code, nixpkgs, emacs, workflow.

What they did
After resisting vibe-coded PRs, he bought Claude Code Pro and used it to draft nixpkgs packages he could reason about from prior packaging experience, one-shot a delete-comment API/UI for EndTRACKER, iterate a PII-pruning migration (about 15 local commits then squashed), parallelize a slow migration tool in minutes, prototype a work idea peers called a six-month project as a ~200 SLOC script from a 20-minute prompt, and generate an Emacs ticket.el integration he would not have written from scratch.
How it went
He finished more different things while low-energy after a draining summit and is uncomfortably excited to use it more, while stressing that first dumps needed deep review to remove fluff and fix logic.
Worth knowing
He warns agents make it easy to inflate PR counts with meaningless commit boundaries and produce convincing bloat; he still will not let agents loose unattended on production projects.
