What they did
1) Prepare your actual employment evidence, a target job description, a single-column LaTeX resume template, and an editor that can compile it to PDF. Open ChatGPT or Claude. 2) Identify the role's requirements and choose experiences that demonstrate them. Give the assistant the template's `.tex` source and your relevant details, asking it to retain that structure while tailoring the content. 3) Review the resulting bullets for demonstrated impact rather than lists of tools. Keep only claims and numbers you can substantiate, and place language or tool names in the skills section where appropriate. 4) Put the revised source into your LaTeX editor, compile the PDF, and inspect the layout before submitting it for that vacancy.
How it went
The author reports using this approach as part of a successful application for a remote data-science role.
Worth knowing
The author found that giving an AI only the finished PDF often damaged the visual template. The source code made the intended structure explicit.
