What they did
1) Install Claude's desktop app, sign in with a plan that includes Cowork, and put the files to organize in one dedicated folder. Grant Cowork access to that folder. 2) Request clearly named subfolders and descriptive filenames, with a separate list of suspected duplicates for your review. Do not authorize automatic duplicate deletion. 3) Let it sort the files, then open the output folders and spot-check their contents. In the author's case, outfit photos were mixed with book-cover drafts. 4) Describe the correction in the same session, such as moving outfit photos into their own Reels folder, and check the repaired arrangement before making deletion decisions.
How it went
The author reports sorting 230 files in under five minutes, followed by a correction to the photo grouping.
Worth knowing
The duplicates were listed for the owner to decide about rather than deleted automatically.
