What they did

1) Have ChatGPT, Anki, and the notes you want to study ready. Paste the notes into a chat and request short question-and-answer flashcards based on them. 2) Read the first draft. If answers are too verbose, ask for short lines that are easy to memorize. 3) Request an unnumbered code block with one question and its answer per line, separated by a semicolon. Check that the model has actually used separate lines; the commenter needed an extra correction for this. 4) Save the output as a UTF-8 plain-text file and import it into Anki. Select semicolon as the separator and map the two columns to question and answer fields. Review the cards, adjust daily card and recall settings, and begin studying.

How it went

The commenter reported using generated cards successfully for multiple college exams.

Worth knowing

Other participants warned that generating too many cards can create an excessive review workload.
