What they did
1) Sign in to ChatGPT and a Claude account whose Memory settings expose the import option. In Claude, open Settings > Capabilities > Memory and select Import memory from other AI providers, then Start Import. 2) Copy Claude's supplied migration prompt into ChatGPT. It requests identity, career context, working style and project information. 3) Read the returned profile before moving it. If it contains only a shallow list, ask ChatGPT to expand the relevant sections; correct stale or unwanted details. 4) Paste the reviewed profile into Claude's import window and complete the import. The handoff artifact is that condensed profile, not the raw export archive.
Worth knowing
The author distinguishes this shortcut from analyzing a full history export. It only carries the information the source assistant recalls, so it is not a complete conversation migration.
