What they did
1) Ask Muse to create a finance dashboard for your cards, bills, due dates, and balances, and provide card nicknames plus their reward rules. 2) Connect Plaid for checking-balance updates or enter balances in chat if you do not want to connect it. 3) For each purchase, text the merchant, amount, and card nickname, such as “Publix $49 on AmEx2003”; have Muse log and categorize it and recommend the card that best fits the purchase. 4) Use the dashboard for the Sunday bill roundup, upcoming-bill reminders, pre-shopping card reminders, and quarterly reward-cap warnings.
How it went
The author said the dashboard tracks about 20 cards and replaced a spreadsheet they had stopped maintaining; the dashboard can be pinned and modified in Muse.
Worth knowing
The author connected Plaid to checking, not every card. A commenter noted Plaid data may update only once or twice per day, so do not treat it as real-time transaction tracking.
