What they did

1) Open Gmail on the web using the account whose primary Google Calendar you want to update. Your account must expose Gemini in Gmail; organization settings and enabled smart features govern access. 2) Click Ask Gemini at the top right to open the side panel. Ask about the relevant day or existing event; use @Calendar to make the calendar request explicit. 3) Open the email containing the event's details. Ask Gemini to add the event to your calendar, or click Add to calendar above the email when Gmail detects event information. 4) Read Gemini's event-added confirmation and inspect the created calendar entry against the email's details. Correct any issue in Calendar before relying on the entry. This completes the email-to-event workflow without manually copying the message into a new event form.
