What they did
1) Gather a crop-specific soil test, planting-area measurements and the weights and NPK labels of available fertilizers. The author's test called for nitrogen, phosphorus and calcium while avoiding additional potassium. 2) Upload the test image to ChatGPT and ask about nitrogen requirements. Work through the available materials and application calculations in follow-up questions. 3) Compare treating the entire field with treating only narrow bands around the saplings. Request ground preparation steps, monthly timing, establishment needs and later-year projections. 4) Check the generated plan against the physical row layout and recalculate each band's area before using its quantities. Correct grouping errors and split applications if your verified rates require it.
How it went
The author obtained a fertility plan but still needed to correct three proposed row bands to four.
Worth knowing
This was a planning exercise; the post does not demonstrate crop results or validate the final application rates.
