What they did
1) Give Claude Code read/write access to your Obsidian vault. Create a trip hub, itinerary, bookings, practical information, and research notes containing sources and rejected options. Attribute friends' recommendations. 2) Ask Claude to interview you one question at a time, offering recommendations while leaving decisions to you. Save the decisions in the notes. 3) Before each city, request a day-by-day feasibility review. Check stops against their own websites and retain anything Claude could not verify. 4) When plans change, supply the actual departure time and ask Claude to revise the remaining day's times. Edit this single itinerary rather than competing copies.
How it went
The author used the system during a 14-day Kyoto, Hakone, and Tokyo trip.
Worth knowing
An added store turned out to be closed. The author subsequently required official-site checks and warned against editing two competing plans.
