Extend a photo's edges to fit a new layout on Android

At a glance

Firefly's mobile Generative Expand workflow fills added canvas space and exports the chosen variation. This workflow is listed under Photo Editing, Mobile, Creative Projects.

What they did

1) Open Adobe Firefly on an Android phone with a photo available on the device or in the gallery. 2) Choose Generative expand, load the image and tap Expand. Drag the crop handles outward to create the required canvas, reposition the original inside it, or enter width and height values. 3) Describe what should appear in the added area, or leave the prompt empty for an expansion based on the existing picture, then generate. 4) Compare the variations and request more if needed. Select Keep for the version you want, then use Export to download it or continue editing in Adobe Express. Use Cancel instead if the generated edges do not work.

Worth knowing

The help page separates Android and iOS instructions. Its iOS flow uses an aspect-ratio picker and a Save icon, so these Android button names should not be treated as universal.
