What they did
1) Create a Map Your Voyage account, enter your Instagram username and complete its verification process. Note the receiving Instagram account shown after linking. 2) Send favorite travel reels to that account by direct message. Wait for the service to extract locations into country-specific bucket lists. 3) When planning a trip, open the relevant country's list and select the individual places you want; deselect unwanted stops and add missing places through the search bar. 4) Generate a day-by-day itinerary from that shortlist. Disable additional AI suggestions if you want the itinerary to use only the places you selected.
Worth knowing
The author distinguishes collecting places from choosing an itinerary: travelers can select individual locations within a reel and omit the rest.
