What they did

1) Prepare an inputs folder with three text files: plan.md for the book, student level, unit length and learning aims; template.md for the sequence and timing of lesson activities; and assessment.md for formative and final tasks, criteria and feedback. 2) Open Claude Cowork with access to that folder. Ask it to read all three files and build the unit, preserving the lesson structure and assessment approach. 3) In the example, specify Year 8, Alice in Wonderland, about four weeks and 10–12 lessons focused on character voice and perspective. Include small-group discussion, writing practice and a mid-unit check. 4) Review the generated sequence against the inputs: an opening activity, main project lessons, assessment timing, final submission and closing reflection must all remain represented before using the plan.

Worth knowing

The source supplies sample file contents. Reproducing its structure requires those planning and assessment inputs, rather than only a book title.
