What they did
1) Have a running Trek instance, its MCP connection authorized in Claude Code through OAuth, and a CSV export of your travel spreadsheet. The author self-hosted Trek in Docker; server setup and connector authorization are prerequisites. 2) Give Claude the CSV and ask it to parse the dates, notes and places, then load the trip into Trek through MCP. 3) For an activity plan, provide visit dates, ticket access, family ages, ride preferences, priorities and departure times. The source used two Disneyland Paris days for children aged 10, 8 and 6, avoiding intense rides. 4) Let Claude research ride availability and produce a compact plan, then instruct it to load that plan into Trek. Finish with the itinerary and activity note available in Trek.
How it went
The author reports relying on Trek throughout the holiday without reopening the old spreadsheet.
Worth knowing
Country restrictions on the author's tunnel blocked calls abroad. Mobile Claude also lacked the Trek connection configured before departure.
