A local dashboard forecasts weekly Grok usage without spending quota

At a glance

A Grok Bot user built a local check-in page that shows whether current usage will last until reset. This workflow is listed under usage tracking, local tools, dashboard.

SourceBuilding a tool for these workflows? See weekly rates.

What they did

1) Install the small dashboard on the Grok Bot machine or another computer and open its local page at 127.0.0.1. 2) Set it to read Grok Build's /usage page every 15 to 120 minutes, or enter the weekly usage percentage manually for a faster check. 3) Compare the daily burn rate with a 14% per-day pace and read the end-of-week projection. 4) Add optional short notes to the history; a bot with local command access can record one by running python usage_history.py checkin "<name>" "<note>", then refresh the page.

How it went

The author says scheduled checks make no model calls and use no quota. The dashboard was tested on Linux on the bot's computer and on a Windows PC.

Worth knowing

The dashboard runs locally and keeps its data on the machine. The post links the MIT-licensed project but does not provide a hosted service.
