What they did
1) Prepare a Notion recipe database and weekly meal plan, then connect the workspace to Adapt through its Notion authorization flow. Describe a reusable recipe-parsing skill that saves title, effort, tags, cookbook, duration, ingredients and method to that database. 2) Drop in a cookbook-page photo and invoke the parser. Have it include any component recipes, then inspect the resulting Notion entry. 3) Choose the week's meals with the household and put those selections in the weekly plan. Create a second reusable skill that reads the latest plan, opens its recipes and combines ingredients across them, recognizing equivalent ingredient wording. 4) Invoke that skill after the plan is complete and use its consolidated shopping list. Keep meal selection as the human checkpoint before generating groceries.
How it went
The author reports building the two skills in about thirty minutes and using them in the family's weekly routine.
Worth knowing
The author leads Product and Engineering at Adapt. The workflow still relies on people choosing the meals; the article describes that boundary explicitly.
