What they did

1) On a Mac with paid Claude Code access, create a project containing raw, work, and exports folders. Ask Claude to install and check ffmpeg, faster-whisper, and HyperFrames. 2) Write CLAUDE.md with caption appearance, pacing, music, and export rules. Put an old video in raw and work through its first edit locally. 3) Request a 30–40-second reel that removes pauses, filler, and retakes, keeping the final take. Require a cut list for review before cutting, word-level captions, and a 1080x1920, 30 fps, -14 LUFS export in exports. 4) Review the rendered video and request specific revisions. Have Claude check for blank, repeated, or flashing frames and check loudness. Turn corrections into written rules. 5) Once the local workflow behaves as desired, supply later phone footage through a Google Drive folder accessible to the Mac.

How it went

The author reports turning 6:51 of footage into a 35-second reel, with seven versions for creative revisions.
