What they did
1) On Windows 10 or later, get the x64 Faster-Whisper-XXL package from https://github.com/Purfview/whisper-standalone-win/releases and extract it with its libraries and One Click Transcribe.bat into a user folder. Allow internet access for the initial model download. 2) Open the batch file in Notepad. Keep its file-list argument and choose the output settings; the thread's example uses -o source -f json srt -m medium. Set the recording language explicitly, such as -l en for English. 3) Right-click the batch file and choose Send To, then Desktop (create shortcut). Drag an audio/video file, several files, or a folder onto that shortcut. 4) Let transcription finish, then open the JSON and SRT files beside the source recordings and review the transcript before using the subtitles.
Worth knowing
Drop files onto the shortcut, as the maintainer specifies. Automatic language detection does not activate the language-specific prompt presets used to improve punctuation.
