What they did
1) Prepare a Gemini API key, a Google Cloud OAuth client of type Web application authorized for the demo page's origin, and a destination Google Sheet ID. Open the repository's linked Receipt Scanner demo and enter those values in Configuration. 2) Sign in with Google to authorize access to Sheets. Upload receipt images or PDFs, or take a receipt photo. 3) Choose summarized extraction for one row per receipt or detailed extraction for item rows, then select Summarize with AI. 4) Inspect the extracted table against the receipt preview and select Export to Google Sheet. Use the TSV clipboard option when pasting into a spreadsheet is more convenient.
Worth knowing
The README says credentials persist in browser localStorage and requests go directly to Google APIs. Browser-based processing still sends the receipt data to Gemini; it is not an offline model.
