What they did
1) Use Claude Code in a development environment, with GitHub access if it will create and push the repository. Prepare the destination, tentative dates, family interests and information everyone needs to compare the trip. 2) Ask for a static travel-planning website hosted on GitHub Pages. Request destination information, activities, hotel and restaurant suggestions, plus a planning checklist. Claude chose Astro and generated the project and local/deployment instructions. 3) Run the generated site locally using its project instructions. Review it in the browser and ask for specific changes to dates, content, pages and appearance. 4) Have Claude create/push the repository and deploy through GitHub Pages. Share the URL with family members; update the site as questions arise and ask them to refresh that same page.
How it went
The author published the site without writing its code or commit messages. A checklist stored progress in her browser.
Worth knowing
This was an unbooked proposal. The author had not yet solved private sharing of actual reservation details.
