What they did

1) Claim a dedicated email address for Grok Bot. In Gmail settings, add that address under Forwarding and confirm it. 2) Let Gmail send copies of incoming messages to the bot; each copy wakes it to read and triage the message, returning only items that need a decision or reply. Keep it from answering senders on its own, and have it check spam twice daily for legitimate mail. 3) Test delivery by emailing the bot from a phone, then confirm the app receipt shows the sender, subject, time, and that the message came from you.

How it went

The test message appeared in the app about a minute later with its sender, subject, timestamp, and sender verification.

Worth knowing

The setup forwards copies rather than handing the bot control of the user's inbox; the author says it never replies to senders on its own.
