What they did
1) Have a project and authenticated Claude Code installation. Create `CLAUDE.md` in the project root with environment commands, architecture constraints, and instructions to implement one step, then stop for review. Reserve Verify checkboxes for your manual tests of the running application. 2) Create `TODO.md` with a goal and Next Steps section. Give each task separate implementation and Verify checkboxes. 3) Create `.claude/commands/next.md` with instructions to read `TODO.md`, find its earliest task with an unchecked implementation item, summarize remaining work, and perform the next unchecked step. 4) Start Claude Code in the project and invoke `/next`. Review its change, perform the manual checks, and request a commit when satisfied. In a later session, invoke `/next` to recover the remaining work from the file.
Worth knowing
The source requires explicit permission to commit and keeps human verification separate from implementation completion.
